The two cycles of blame
We either blame things outside of us for our problems
Or
We blame ourselves for everything that goes wrong
While its more empowering to take responsibility for what’s happening in our life
if we are feeling shame about it being our fault, It will cause us to hide from it
So, instead of acknowledging the problem and working toward fixing it
We tend to see it, push it to the side and ignore it, and let it fester and get worse
Shame is not a helpful emotion to make changes
If we want to take control and take actions to make things better, we need to acknowledge the problem, accept it without judgment, and get curious about how to make it better
More useful emotions for taking action are: curiosity, determination, excitement, or commitment
