Procrastination is a Thief…Here Are Some Tips To Overcome Procrastination

Do you find yourself procrastinating when it comes to your goals 

You really want to do it, but just can’t seem to find the motivation to get started 

Here is a tip to figure out the why, then you can work on the how: 

Ask yourself a couple questions to get to the root of the problem…

  1. When I think about my goal, What am I thinking? 

  2. When I think about my goal, What emotion do I feel? 

These two questions will be a good indication as to why you are procrastinating 

If you are thinking thoughts like: 

I have a big, massive goal 

It’s going to take so long 

I’ll never be able to accomplish this 

I don’t even know where to start 

If I don’t achieve this, I’ll be a failure 

It’s no wonder why you haven’t started…these thoughts are heavy and scary 

Thoughts like these are really sneaky though… 

We don’t say them out loud 

They are running in the background going unnoticed causing the procrastination 

That’s why we have to ask the questions and then speak them out loud, or better yet, write them down so we can get awareness 

Again, if you are feeling: 

Dread; Overwhelm; Anxious; Pressure; or Heaviness 

It makes complete sense on why you haven’t started 

But we can’t change it or get a hold on it, until we acknowledge it 

Once you are aware what you are thinking and feeling about your goal, you can answer those concerns and overcome the procrastination
