Here is a tip to figure out the why, then you can work on the how:Â
Ask yourself a couple questions to get to the root of the problem…
When I think about my goal, What am IÂ thinking?Â
When I think about my goal, What emotion do I feel?Â
These two questions will be a good indication as to why you are procrastinatingÂ
If you are thinking thoughts like:Â
I have a big, massive goalÂ
It’s going to take so longÂ
I’ll never be able to accomplish thisÂ
I don’t even know where to startÂ
If I don’t achieve this, I’ll be a failureÂ
It’s no wonder why you haven’t started…these thoughts are heavy and scaryÂ
Thoughts like these are really sneaky though…Â
We don’t say them out loudÂ
They are running in the background going unnoticed causing the procrastinationÂ
That’s why we have to ask the questions and then speak them out loud, or better yet, write them down so we can get awarenessÂ
Again, if you are feeling:Â
Dread; Overwhelm; Anxious; Pressure; or HeavinessÂ
It makes complete sense on why you haven’t startedÂ
But we can’t change it or get a hold on it, until we acknowledge itÂ
Once you are aware what you are thinking and feeling about your goal, you can answer those concerns and overcome the procrastinationÂ
