The 50/50 of Life

When it comes to negative feelings we tend to...

Resist--push away, this can show up in a statement such as "this shouldn't be..."

React--act our the feelings: yell, etc. and then we tend to beat ourselves up for our "bad behavior

Avoid--we might go shopping, or eat food, or scroll on social media, which adds its own layer of additional negative emotions

ALL this just delays the inevitable and compounds the problem

A better way is to Accept, Allow, and Process the emotion
